Nashville: The Economic Stimulus Edition

This past weekend I went to Nashville with 3 of my best friends. Two of us ran the Nashville Country Music Half Marathon benefiting St. Jude’s Hospital. The run was part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series, and all of Music City seemed to get involved in the event, running or not. It was an awesome long weekend and great excuse for some girl bonding and fun. Naturally, after the 13.1-mile endeavor, we stuck to our priorities: shopping, eating and drinking.

Beyond Broadway, Music Row and the Opry, Nashville is an incredible blend of southern charm and chic, current style. I wasn’t prepared for the upgrade wardrobes I locked in but was pumped to find a great mix of eclectic boutiques, savvy shops and vintage stores. I love shopping when I travel and do so almost exclusively. It makes my boudoir a bit of a travel time capsule/memory explosion.

We spent the bulk of Saturday in 12 South, Nashy’s trendy neighborhood situated just south of Music Row and east of Vanderbilt. You’re welcome, local economy. Thank Amex and us next visit.

One of my fav stops was Judith Bright’s flagship jewelry haven right on 12th. Between the mesmerizing baubles, beautiful designs, utmost hospitality and a peak into the immaculate workspace near the goods, it’s hard not to end up spending more than a fair share of time in Judith’s shop. Plus, she and the team are so sweet.

Home decor mecca Cadeau made our hearts sing. Few things like beautiful, creative inspiration to make our hearths cozy and warm. I snagged this precious melting-popsicle jewelery holder from imm.

(Psst - as though shopping amidst beautiful home decor isn’t wonderful enough, Cadeau served the Lovebird Wheat beer from Nashville-based Jackalope Brewing Company out of growlers filled at The Filling Station down the street.)

No adventure is complete without visiting a pet boutique! Fortunately, Wags & Whiskers had some local treats to diversify Bear’s stash typically replenished by BarkBox.

And, for the miscellaneous; clockwise from top left:

Gold vermeil fortune cookie necklace with inspirational quote from local artist Christina Kober at MODA on 12th. True vintage DVF wrap at uber-charming Savant (where I also scored a fantastic Gucci work-bag previously belonging to stylish and lovely owner Beverly). Yummy salted grapefruit candle from Paddywax at Serendipity. Fun and flirty spring dress, also at Serendipity, with martini cut-outs because, well, because.
