Access to wine country is a privilege of living in the Bay Area. With Napa, Sonoma and Russian River within 90 minutes of the city, the biggest challenge is limiting the number of wine clubs I join. (I finally checked myself last year and canceled several - my monthly commitment became like a cheap rent payment.)
My cousins’ cabin in Forestville is a 5-minute ride from tasty Stumptown Brewery, a bar & grill with an impressive selection of their own brews. Hop lovers mustn’t leave without sampling the Rat Bastard Pale Ale!
The “River” is also refreshingly close to the Francis Ford Coppola Winery. We spent the day with mimosas by the pool and had a long, lazy lunch at the winery’s restaurant, Rustic. Oh, and we may have gone in on a 4-way wine club membership that’s totally been underutilized (#eek).
